Leyland Leopard / Duple 4585 SC at the Spittalfield terminus. Out of site in the background were the premises of A & C McLennan who once operated several routes in the area including the one to Perth. They were one of the first companies to be taken over by Stagecoach.
Rapsons 3692 NT at Perth bus station before working the Citylink 955 service to Inverness. Interestingly, the vehicle has just been repainted and has yet to have the Citylink lettering applied. |

Highland Omnibuses Leyland Leopard CAS 515W stands at Inverness bus station prior to working the route 19 alongside Loch Ness to Fort William.
In 1997, Rapsons ESK 932, a Volvo B10M with Plaxton Premiere body is seen at Ullapool alongside Caledonian MacBrayne's ferry"Isle of Lewis" which replaced the "Suilven" in 1995. Due to strong religious convictions in the region, the ferry between Ullapool and Stornoway does not operate on Sundays. To enable those needing to be at Ullapool or Stornoway early, on Mondays an early service operates from Stornoway (ex 01 00) and Ullapool (ex 04 15). When the photograph was taken, Rapsons ran a service from Inverness on Mondays (ex 02 00) to Connect with the ferry and EXK 932 had just completed the westbound run and prepares to return to Inverness. |

During the summer months, Inverness Traction operate a once daily return service from Inverness to Durness via Ullapool (futher details available from the address and phone number shown above). A fascinating 5 hour journey through some of the remotest parts of Britain and some spectacular scenery.

It is also possible to use the above service and then travel across the "roof of Britain" to Thurso. On the same date as the above, Highland's LMS 375W awaits departure to Thurso. Return to Inverness was made by way of a Citylink service. |
