Retford & District

 

 

204 (OSJ 635R) was one of five Alexander bodied Leyland Leopards

in the fleet which were all acquired from Western Scottish in 1988. The

two views show it (above) at Nottingham Victoria bus station and

(below) departing from Doncaster South bus station on route 99 for

Retford via Bawtry.

 

 

Another ex Western Scottish Leopard, 205 (OSJ 636R) is seen at

Retford bus station in two versions of the livery.

 

 

Leyland Leopard / Duple Dominant 213 (98) MTV 754P, was acquired

from Erewash Valley in 1990 and is seen above at Gainsborough bus

station having worked the route 98 from Retford. This, and the 99

mentioned above, were amongst several routes which passed into the

hands of Road Car when Retford & District ceased operating.

 

 

At Retford bus station, Leyland Leopard / Plaxton 215 (CPY 704T),

waits before working theservice 100 to Ollerton. This vehicle was

acquired from Cleveland Coaches in 1993.

 

 

Like Retford & District, Whites of Calver was also owned by

Chesterfield Transport, all threecompanies wearing the same

distinctive livery.

 

 

In Retford a visit from the parent Company's Leyland National 41

(WBN 669T) on service 98 to Gainsborough. The vehicle was acquired

from Greater Manchester Buses.
