HOGG
|
| Compared
to some other Lincolnshire operators, Hogg was a
relative late arrival in the bus world being
established in 1958. It operated a fascinating
variety of vehicles and featured here PHG 810K,
one of four Bristol RESL6L's with Pennine B46F
bodywork which were in the fleet during the 1980's
being acquired from Potteries Motor Traction. |
|

|
| Hogg once
had six ECW bodied Bristol LH's in its fleet.
which all originated from Eastern Counties. Here
CNG 525K is seen at Skegness. It was to give
several years more service after the Hogg
takeover and is featured in the Brylaine section of this
site. |

| Bedford /
Duple KBC 740E is seen stood at Norman Avenue in
Boston prior to working a service to Horncastle.
KBC 740E was a Bedford SB1, chassis number
7817954, fitted with a Duple C41F body.
Hogg acquired it from Milsons at takeover in 1/79;
they'dpurchased it in February 1975 from Warren,
Neath. It was new to aLeicestershire
operator. I don't have an
"official" withdrawal date, buti t had
gone from the fleet in 1983 and my guess is it
was disposed of in1982 when large numbers of
buses were bought. Information by A. Cartwright

six years after the Company's takeover by
Brylaine Travel, dumped at the former Milson
depot in Coningsby was Bedford YRT / Plaxton XRR

| Ford R1114
/ Duple Dominant GDO 27W was new to Hogg in 1980
and was photographed whilst at Horncastle Market
Place prior to working the former H.H. Milson run
to Boston. |

|
| Hogg
established a very successful daily express coach
service from Skegness to London in 1980. Normally,
full sized coaches were used but on this very
rare occasion, B970 DCA, a Mercedes L608D with
Ensor C21F body was used and arrived at the
terminus, where it was photographed, full and
standing! |
|

|
| In1984 the
business expanded significantly and operated
holidays in Europe using three coaches which are
shown whilst on display in Skegness in 1984. Left
to right they are Volvo B10M JNV 627Y, Deutz /
Ayats Appolo DVC 357Y and Neoplan Jetliner WTL
921. |
