A poor photograph in technical terms, but the subject matter justifies

its inclusion. The location is Boston's Market Place in 1975. Prior to

the opening of the bus station in 1976, this was the starting and

terminating point for most LRCC services in the town. The vehicle in

front, 2488 (OVL 497), a Bristol SC4LK / ECW, new to the LRCC in

1961, awaits departure on the 58B town service to the Woad Farm

Estate. If not the last of its type at Boston, it was certainly amongst

the last. The vehicle itself was withdrawn in 1978 and ended its days

being used as a seat store by an operator in Appleby. The Bristol LH

behind it was comparatively new and, as is demonstrated here,

Lodekkas still formed an integral part of the double-deck fleet.
