Bristol VR 1971 (HWJ 924W) was acquired from Yorkshire Traction in

1988. It was painted in this rather striking all over advert livery for

Pleasure Island. Unfortunately, Butlin's frowned upon its use as it was

considered to be advertising a rival concern and it was consequently

banned from entering their premises, so could not be used on the route 97.

In the latter part of its career, it received the roof off a withdrawn VR and

was painted into fleet livery and spent the rest of its days working as an

ordinary service vehicle.
