| Bristol VR 1971 (HWJ 924W) was acquired from
Yorkshire Traction in 1988. It was painted in this rather striking all over advert livery for Pleasure Island. Unfortunately, Butlin's frowned upon its use as it was considered to be advertising a rival concern and it was consequently banned from entering their premises, so could not be used on the route 97. In the latter part of its career, it received the roof off a withdrawn VR and was painted into fleet livery and spent the rest of its days working as an ordinary service vehicle. |
