Service 157 was introduced in 1977 as a result of the

Skegness to Boston railway line being closed during

early mornings and late evenings as an ecomomy

measure. The 157 was intended to replace rail

services and, initially, operated "Limited Stop"

between Skegness and Boston (Railway Station)

calling only at Wainfleet. Coaches and VR's were

normally used, but on one occasion, Bristol FS5G

2516 (VFE 965) was used and was photographed

prior to departure above.
