LODEKKA FINALE

1982 was the end of the era for the Bristol Lodekka in the LRCC fleet. At this time they were only allocated to Scunthorpe depot. A contemporary newspaper shown below recorded the event.

The demise of the Lodekkas was also recorded in the Scunthorpe Star

Bristol FLF 2709 (HAE 275D) was aquired from the West Riding Automobile Company in 1978 and stasyed with the Company for four years until it was withdrawn and disposed of to A.P.T. This was the only FLF to be allocated toBoston depot and, even more significantly, was the last ever crew operated bus to be allocated to the depot. It is seen at Kirton in June 1981 prior to returning on the service 60 to Boston. It was transferred to Scunthorpe depot late that year.

In the final year of Lodekka operation, 2715 (JAE 630D) is seen arriving at Scunthorpe bus station. This vehicle was acquired from the West Riding Automobile Company in 1978.
