REMEMBERED

The X67 commenced operation in 1982 and ran between Lincoln and

Manchester via Newark, Southwell, Mansfield and Chesterfield. Essentially

an extended bus service, it was operated jointly by the Lincolnshire Road

Car, East Midland / Mansfield District and Silver Service. East Midland's

Alexander TE bodied Leyland Tiger A44 XFE stands at Lincoln St. Mark's bus

station in 1984 before departing for Mansfield.

Another East Midland vehicle, this time a Leyland National and one of three

with DP47F seating in the fleet at that time, is also seen at Lincoln.

Unfortunately this very useful service was to becaome a casualty of the

deregulation of bus services and the LRCC's AVL 744X is seen at St. Mark's

on the last day the service operated, Saturday October 25th, 1986.

Another view of 1455 (AVL 744X) on the same day having worked the final

1105 departure from Lincoln, is seen near to the Chorlton Street coach

station at Manchester at the end of its 4 hour 40 minute run.
