| Legbourne Railway Museum |
| Legbourne Road was the
first station south of Louth on the East Lincolnshire main line and lost its passenger service on December 7th, 1953. In recent years the property served as the Legbourne Railway Museum and, as such, contained a wealth of items of local and national railway interest. Sadly, due to the retirement of its owners, the museum closed in 1998 and the many exhibits were sold by auction. The signal box on the platform was formerly the Tramway Crossing box at Sutton-on-Sea, a photograph can be found in the Virtual Tour of East Lincolnshire Railways on this site. The following record for posterity some of the many exhibits which will now be in the hands of many different owners. |
