Roe bodied Leyland Panther 48 (GVL 84F)

 

 

New to the Company in 1964 was this Leyland Atlantean

PDR/1 with Roe body. 97 (WFE 49) is seen near the

Cathedral on route 9 to Nettleham Road.

 

 

ECW bodied Bristol VR 25 (LFE 25P) is seen at the City bus

station advertising the Company's 75th anniversary.

 

 

Leyland Atlantean / Roe 99 (PBC 99G) was one of four of the

type acquired from Leicester City Transport in 1981.

 

 

Alexander bodied Bristol VR (on the right) 91 (OSR 201R) was

one of eight of the type acquired from Tayside Regional

Council in 1981/2. On the left, behind the Company's Land

Rover, is ECW bodied VR 26 (RFE 26R).

 

 

Another of the ex Tayside VRs, this time 94 (OSR 198R).

 

 

27 (RFE 27R) in all over advertising livery for the Co-op.

 

 

East Lancs. bodied Bristol VR, 35 (NFW 35V), was one of 7

examples of the type in the fleet being purchased new during

1980/1.

 

 

LCT had some 12 of these Alexander bodied Bristol REs in the

fleet. Here 74 (UVL 874M) is seen on a rather wet day heading

north along the busy High Street. Sister vehicle 73 (UVL 873M)

has recently been purchased by the Lincolnshire Vintage

Vehicle Society for preservation/

Another Alexander bodied RE, 77 (UVL 877M), seen at the City

Ex Tayside VR 89 (OSR 189R) in advertising livery

approaching the City bus station.

 

 

Three of the ex Tayside VR's returned to Scotland after being

purchased by Highland Omnibuses on March 9th, 1992. The

vehicles were OSR 187/8/203R. In this view we see former 93

(B203 in the Highland fleet) OSR 203R a long way from Lincoln

at Highland's Seafield Road depot in Inverness still wearing

Lincoln City colours in 1994.

 

 

The mid 1980's and deregulation saw significant changes to

the Company, not least the dramatic change of livery. 99

(CJN 441C), a Leyland Titan PD3/6 with Massey H38/32R

body, was previously preserved and then used as a Driver

Trainer. It is shown at the former rival LRCC Lincoln St. Marks

bus station.

88 (OSR 188R) stands at the City bus station wearing all over

advertising livery for the Co-op.

 

 

The new livery as applied to 94 (OSR 198R) at the compound

68 (RVL 68L) was one of the few remaining REs in the fleet to

receive the new style livery.

In the wake of deregulation LCT introduced a fleet of 20 FX4

taxis ton operate "Limo" services. 2 (D578 CRW) is seen

whilst at the City bus station.

 

 

Three of these very smart East Lancs bodied Leyland

Olympians with coach seats were purchased new by LCT in

1985. Above we see 47 (C47 KBE) outside the St. Marks depot.

All three are still in active service with Road Car.

 

 

Two East Lancs bodied Leyland Olympians at Skegness on

the Sunday service Lincoln. On the left is 44 (KTL 44Y) whilst

beside it is 46 (C46 KBE).

 

 

65 (KIB 6527) was one of four East Lancashire bodied Volvo

City Bus B10M-50s purchased new in 1988. It is seen at the

Richmond Coach park in Skegness in 1989.

Daimler Fleetline 83 (MLH 494L) was one of four of the type

acquired from Warrington inm1987. It is seen parked at Tower

Esplanade in Skegness in 1989.

The mid 1980s also saw LCT operate a number of National

Express services for which three out of five ex London

Country AEC Reliances were suitably painted. 52 (YSV 563 -

previously EPM 149V) is seen at Sheffield on a day excursion.

 

 

54 (XLB 821) is seen at Lincoln in 1989 and was another of the

AEC Reliances acquired in 1986 having been previously

registered EPM 148V. Another view of it at Skegness can be

seen below.

In 1994, to commemorate the 90th anniversary of Lincoln City

Transport, Road Car painted Leyland Olympian 643 (KTL 43Y)

in a special livery.
