Partly paralleling the Grimsby District Light Railway was the Grimsby and Immingham Electric Railway or better described, a tramway. This normal gauge tramway opened in 1912 between Corporation Bridge at Grimsby and Immingham. There was no physical connection with the railway system. The tramway faithfully served the working population with a passenger service between Grimsby and Immingham until closure in 1961.
