Although no longer in the fleet, Leyland Panther / Pennine

MCK 229J is worthy of inclusion as it was one of the last

examples of its type in service in Britain, thus very popular

with bus enthusiasts ! Hunt's acquired it from Citybus of

Middleton in 1986.

Bristol LH / ECW XFW 951S is now the only example of its

type in the fleet. It was acquired from Derby Blue Bus in 1995

and is seen whilst parked at the Lincoln Road stop at

Skegness. Ironically, this vehicle was new to rival operator

Road Car as their 1056 and was allocated to Skegness depot

for a time, so it has now returned to its former territory albeit #

in another guise !

In 1993 the Company acquired three Dennis Falcons with

East Lancs. bodies from Ipswich Buses. TWJ 342Y is pictured

at Skegness.

GMS 289S is one of two Alexander AY bodied Leyland

Leopards in the current fleet. It was acquired from Tame

Valley of Bimingham in 1993, but new to Alexander (Midland).

It is seen whilst parked at the Market Place of the Company's

home town of Alford.

Leyland Tiger / Alexander P A127 GSA was acquired from

Stagecoach Bluebird and is illustrated at Skegness before

returning to Alford.

LeylandNational PJI 5924 was acquired from Paul Winson of

Loughborough in 1998. It is illustrated at Skegness in summer

2001.

Hunt's Bristol VR / ECW HDL 406N was acquired from

Southern Vectis in 1991. It is seen at Chapel St. Leonards

bus station before departing to Skegness. The lower view

shows the same vehicle in September 2000 at Alford

Market Place having worked a service from Skegness.

It was scrapped in October 2001.

Bedford YRT / Plaxton NDX 579 was acquired from Smith of

SouthThoresby, Lincs., in 1983, and was photographed at

Louth bus station in 1995 whilsy on the scenic Wednesday

and Saturday run between Alford and Louth. At this time an

elderly employee of the Company (Bert) in his 90's acted as a

conductor collecting fares and issuing tickets - probably the

oldest bus conductor ever ! Sadly both him and the vehicle

have since retired.

XFP 502S, a Bedford YMT with Plaxton C53F body, was

acquired from Moor-Dale of Newcastle in 1981.

Another fine vehicle no longer in the fleet was Bedford B92

UBW photographed at Cromer whilst on a day excursion.

Leyland Tiger / Plaxton 5611 FH (previously KGS 492Y) was

acquired from the Londoners (Nunhead) in 1986, and is seen

here shortly after arrival on the twice weekly express service

between Alford and Sheffield. The same vehicle is seen

below at the Hunt's garage in Alford.

Hunt's operate a great variety of day excursions and holidays.

3613 FH (originally D230 HMT), a Leyland Tiger with Van Hool

body is one of the vehicles regularly deployed on these duties.

Mercedes / Plaxton W638 MKY is seen at Boston bus station

on December 6th, 2000. It has since been re-registered to

5611 FH.

Hunt's celebrated their 70th anniversary in

2000. The above was applied to the vehicle

featured in the previous photograph.

The Company continue to purchase Van Hools for coaching

work and above is a recent example acquired in 2001. It is

seen at Cromer on May 27th, 2001.
