This Wemann bodied AEC Reliance was new to Maidstone &

District in April 1962 as S352 (renumbered 3325 in 1968 and again in

1975 to 4004) and originally registered 325 NKT. It was converted to

open top in 1974 whilst based at the Silverhill depot in Hastings. It was

subsequently sold to a Barnsley dealer in July 1978 and passed

through many hands including Cross (Hibaldstow), Claret Coaches

(Winchester), Scarlet Coaches (Minehead) and London Country. It

had been reregistered (to AFE 719A) when it was acquired by

Grayscoft in 1995 and is used during the summer (1999 excepted) on

the town service 15.

Bristol LHS6L / Plaxton NBZ 1671 (originally registered ATH 108T)

was acquired from Oxon Travel of Bicester in 1995. It is seen parked

at Skegness bus station after working the summer service 12 from

Mablethorpe.

Acquired from Burton of Haverhill in 1986 was this Plaxton bodied

Bedford YRT, photograph at Louth bus station. It has since been

withdrawn.

Another photograph taken at Louth bus station, this time of TJI 1679

(previously PNW 305W) which was acquired from Wallace Arnold in

1986.

During the summer, Grayscroft vehicles can often be seen operating

reliefs to the National Express seasonal coastal runs. Here, RJI 1654

(previously A810 CCD), a Leyland Tiger with Duple Laser body,

stands at Skegness Richmond coach station before departing on the

service 653 to Chesterfield. The vehicle was acquired from Brighton &

Hove in 1991.

Volvo B10M / Plaxton TJI 1677 (G382 REG) was acquired

from Premier Travel in 1996 and is seen above awaiting

departure on the National Express 643 to Manchester.

Bristol VR / ECW, JWW 227N, was new to West Yorkshire and was

photographed at the Company's premises in Mablethorpe. It was

subsequently re-registered to RIL 1680 and is illustrated below wearing

these plates.

MCO 257H, a 1970 Leyland Atlantean PDR2/1 with Park Royal body,

was acquired by the Company from Clayton of Leicester in 1980. This

vehicle has since been withdrawn and is pictured at Alford Market

Place whilst still in service.

In 1999 Grayscroft acquired this ex Nottingham City Transport

Leyland Atlantean which operated in NCT livery throughout the

summer as is illustrated in the above view taken at Skegness. No doubt

it would be familiar to many holidaymakers at Mablethorpe from the

Nottingham area !

Atlantean XBZ 1674 has seen regular use on the Skegness - Golden

Sands run during summer 2000.
