A view of the Great Northern Terrace depot at Lincoln. The premises originally served as a railway depot for the Lincoln based diesel multiple units.

In common with many other NBC companies, the Bristol VRT was at one time the mainstay of the double-deck fleet. With only three examples left in the fleet, they are now in the minority. Two have been converted to dedicated school vehicles and a bright yellow livery applied. 1957 (PFE 541V) is seen on October 17th, 2000, departing from the Great Northern Terrace depot in Lincoln.

By summer 2000, only two of the ex-Ipswich Buses Atlanteans were still in passenger service. 1325 (RDX 15R) was acquired by Road Car in 1995 and is pictured at the Company's Great Northern Terrace depot in September 2000 after withdrawal having worked its last busy season at Skegness.

The post-deregulation era has seen a wide variety of Leyland Atlanteans in the Road Car fleet. Amongst the more unusual is 252 (MBZ 7142). Originally registered XRF 26S, this vehicle began life with an East Lancs. H45/32F double-deck body and was new to Staffordshire District Council. It later saw service with Liverline (Liverpool) before landing at Sheffield Omnibus who lengthened the chassis and had its present EL2000 B47F body fitted in December 1993.

Volvo B6 / East Lancs. 326 (N326 JTL) was purchased new by the Company in 1995. It is seen at Lincoln before working a service 5 to Tattershall.

Amongst the newer vehicles acquired by Road Car is this Dennis Dart with Plaxton Pointer 2 B29F body, new in 1999. It is seen in September 2000 about to depart from Newark bus station on service 83 to Coddington.

Its Scottish origins are apparent by the triangular layout of the destination display.
