PASSENGER AIRLINE PHOTOGRAPHS

 

 

A BEA (British European Airways) ELIZABTHAN CLASS which had capacity for 47 passengers with 5 crew. Designed and built by the Airspeed Dividsin of the de Havilland Aircraft Co. Ltd., there were two Bristol Centaurus engines and was capable of a cruising speed of 245mph.

 

 

A BEA VISCOUNT "Discovery Class", the World's first turbo-prop airliner. It had capacity for 47 passengers and 5 crew. Designed and built by Vickers-Armstrongs Ltd., it had four Rolls Royce Dart propeller-turbines, and had a cruising speed of 291mph.
